We need someone who can balance quality, budget and schedule needs and drive the decision making with the art leads to achieve all our goals on the art team. If we aren’t at quality or on schedule, you regroup with the leads and drive the plan to get to where we need to be. You are the steward of the resourcing and scheduling for Art and can help creatively achieve our production goals through insightful management and collaboration .
As a key member of the production team, you are one of the champions of a positive and inclusive culture across the art team in Los Angeles, San Diego and for distributed workers at home.
Responsibilities:
- Enable the Art team to achieve clear goals that are collaboratively defined with Art leads. Ensure the team is tracking towards and delivering releases and milestones.
- Balance dependencies from across multiple teams throughout the company with emphasis on concept, 3d art, vfx and lighting.
- Provide clarity on issues, risks, and workflows to all stakeholders
- Drive the schedule and ensure timely progress and decisions are made for all art, vfx, concept and lighting activities.
- Work with Art Leads and Outsource Producer to sequence dependent deliverables to assure the project has a measured and continuous development pace.
- Help cast artists to tasks, matching their current skills with what is needed on the project and with an eye towards growing talent.
- Steward the department hiring budget and hiring plans for all internal art development at the studio. Including maintaining the most optimal organizational chart and work to identify gaps .
- Support documentation of the art pipeline and ensure the leads are onboarding artists in an efficient way.
- Onboard new artists with the appropriate hardware, software, documentation, access and scheduling to empower them to make meaningful contributions quickly .
- Collect, collate and analyze hardware, software, licensing needs across the entire art department.
- Present performance reports via roll-ups from department leads to executives ( eg. Studio Art Director ) in and outside of the company on art development.
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to successful deliver of multiple projects at the highest level art.
- An inclusive verbal and written communicator. Comfortably able to talk with artists, engineers, producers, designers and everyone in between.
- Unreal experience as it relates to art pipelines and effort is a big plus.
