ART OUTSOURCING MANAGER POSITION

Our artists honor the unique aesthetic vision of each project and work to make all aspects of the experience beautiful. The team is comprised of 2D/conceptual artists, 3D modelers, technical and effects artists, and animators.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • This candidate will report to the Art Director of your assigned projects and act as the principal reviewer and main communication channel between vendors and our team.
  • Candidate will be responsible for the quality of art from vendors, working with them to meet the visual fidelity, hit style, and meet technical requirements.
  • The above includes communicating the art style of the AD with vendors, in both written and visual methods for best result.
  • Candidate will be responsible for managing the outsourced assets, including saving, uploading, and being sure they meet our source control standards.
  • Our goal is for this role to include helping us to form, establish, and consistently execute on outsourcing standards and pipeline for our studio.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Portfolio or reel demonstrating examples of Outsourcing direction/guidance. Please include in the examples:
    • Reference guides/direction for asset construction typically provided to the vendor.
    • Redlines, Paintovers, or Documentation demonstrating feedback and communication with the vendor.
    • Any Developed Proposals or Request of Materials Documentation to assist vendors in scoping.
  • At least 4+ years prior game industry experience in an art outsource manager, art director or lead artist role.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of game production design process and methodology.
  • Previous experience with outsourcing and managing external vendors or art teams, and guiding that process via verbal and written/documented direction.

DESIRED:

  • Experience with 3D asset creation for PBR and Mobile platforms
  • Optimization experience for mobile/AR/VR products
  • Experience with Source Control (SVN, GIT, Perforce and/or others)
  • Formal management of individual artists/teams for career growth
