Art Outsourcing Manager

We are looking for an experienced Art Outsource Manager specializing in maintaining co-dev relationships with a proven track record of delivering world-class art for games.
You will play a key role in maintaining relationships with 3 rd party vendors, working with an internal team to develop strategies for delivering high-quality, cost-effective assets.
As the Art Outsource Manager, you will be responsible for making creative briefs and reviewing art assets’ technical and creative quality as they move through development.
You will also have in-depth experience creating 3D game art and managing projects using project management software.
You are highly organized with excellent feedback skills and a solid technical understanding of making art assets for games.
Responsibilities:
- Execute creative briefs for external partners that work towards delivering assets that align with the greater development strategy
- Work closely with Art Directors and Leads to set and communicate the visual quality of external art assets
- Collaborate with production to organize, track, and maintain external assets for the project
- Manage art packages for vendors and development partners on the project
- Be able to source new external art development talent and find ways to increase asset production efficiency
- Be on the frontline of providing feedback to vendors facilitating the vision for external art in the game
- Manage external relationships, providing feedback to drive quality and maintain a consistent vision for our 3D assets
- Help shepherd external assets efficiently through our art pipelines
- Set budgets and document workflows, empowering other externals to deliver inspiring assets
- Be a team player, open to taking and offering feedback
Requirements:
- 2+ Years of experience in a similar position, with at least one shipped title under your belt
- Background in creating game art
- In-depth knowledge of 3D art principles and use of DCC (Maya/3Ds Max, Zbrush, Substance, etc)
- Experience with production tools like Jira or similar software (ShotGrid etc)
- Hands-on experience with Unreal Engine or similar game engines (Unity etc.)
- Self-organised and interested in improving the external asset development process
- Capable of meeting schedules and committing to delivery dates, as well as helping the external teams to achieve development goals
- A positive collaborative and professional working attitude
- Strong English skills, both written and verbal
- Passionate gamer a plus
