Art Outsource Manager (Contract)

As an Art Outsource Manager, you will be collaborating with artists, producers, designers, and engineers to create groundbreaking products that are recognized worldwide for its innovation in technology for kids.
This position will require exceptional project management, communication skills and strong artistic and art direction skills. This role will work closely with the Art team and external vendors to ensure the quality and integrity of the art meets or exceeds product vision.
What you'll do
- Act as the main point of contact for several external resources and art leadership to manage Story book illustration production
- Provide daily feedback and art direction on a high volume of submissions
- Coordinate and track the art assets to ensure that project goals and tasks are completed on time to quality standards
- Manage final asset deliveries between external pipeline and Internal team
- Maintain art production best practices, documentation and oversee pipeline to help the artists operate efficiently to minimize re-submissions and keep asset quality high
- Proactively scope and forecast production resource needs, plan and prioritize based on impact, risk, and effort
- Onboard artists by providing context, documentation and access to resources
- Track contractor quotes and work contracts, approvals and resource database
We'd love to hear from you if you have
- 6+ years of experience as external art manager or similar role, within a game or illustration pipeline
- Portfolio providing samples of 2D Art direction/feedback along with samples of own artwork
- Experience as a Artist Lead/ or Art Director with ability to guide and direct creative production quickly and effectively
- Strong time management with a proven ability to focus on priorities, juggle multiple tasks and work in a fast paced environment
- Understanding of content production pipelines - especially for 2d art and illustrations
- High energy, confident and capable self-starter; can operate with limited supervision
- Good understanding of artist tools and basic tracking software: Photoshop, Spine, Jira, Basecamp, Google Workspace
- Comfort with ambiguity and ability to quickly adapt to change and work effectively under pressure
- Experience working with vendors globally and mindful of cultural nuances
- Pluses: Experience with AR, Spine, Unity or previous work within the educational space
