Your Mission
Your mission is to define the inspirational aesthetics and art behind the immersive visuals and distinctive experiences that define WarZone and the blockbuster Call of Duty franchise. As a leader you are a motivational catalyst for the art team. As an artist, you will help define the look and quality of the COD style. You have the flexible mindset and personality essential for collaboration with some of the most talented and passionate developers in the industry. You Will…
- Collaborate with team leadership to envision and refine epic visual content for world-class WarZone player experiences.
- Be an ambassador for the studio and Art department by collaborating with and maintaining good relationships with all other departments, ATVI studios, and vendors.
- Primary driver and guide who oversees external concept assignments, define workflow and development stages, review work and provide feedback.
- Partner and coordinate with internal and external partners to assess multi-studio development contributions to WarZone.
- Personally generate supportive visual materials for the team in the form of reference, style guides, mood boards, storyboards, or concept as needed.
- Champion best practices and advocate towards streamlining tools and processes.
- Inspire and mentor fellow artists as a role model of initiative, accountability, and attitude.
- Encourage artists to thrive on open and welcome constructive criticism.
- Contribute creative and original ideas towards all aspects of game production and development.
You Bring…
Minimum Requirements:
- 3+ total years in the games industry working in an artist capacity, with at least 1 shipped title in the AAA console / PC space.
- 2+ total years in the games industry working in an art director or concept director capacity, including the tasking of concept art, providing feedback directly to concept artists regarding work in progress, and ensuring quality concept outcomes in support of prop or environment artists
- Passionate and egoless attitude that welcomes feedback and criticism, and enjoys working in a collaborative, iterative, and agile process.
- Strong artistic skills including proportions, perspective, rendering light on form, value, composition, storytelling, and color theory regarding environments, architectural forms, and graphic design.
- Strong knowledge of digital image creation and editing software.
- Impressive communication and strong problem-solving skills.
- Solid understanding of game art with ability to explore a wide variety of ideas that push the Call of Duty style.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating focus and commitment to concept art of realistically styled subject matter and a demonstrated proficiency in traditional art skills and digital painting; ideally demonstrating the creative process from dynamic sketching to refined renders.
- Basic 3D experience in game engine and modeling software; familiarity with game engines sufficient to browse in-engine content (materials, models, etc).
- Content organization and documentation skills including file structures, content in applications and workflows.

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $134,000.00 - $247,900.00 Annual. This base pay range is for the U.S. and is not applicable to locations outside of the U.S. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
