Art Director - Marketing

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Lead multiple projects from concept to delivery.
• Manage the design team's daily activities.
• Be the main point of contact with our main client for any Creative related questions.
• Act as the primary client contact for creative inquiries.
• Support the Account Director in pitch presentations.
• Provide constructive feedback to designers and oversee quality control.
• Conduct one-on-one meetings and annual performance reviews.
• Mentor and guide the team as a senior, offering continuous feedback.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience as an art director at an agency or in-house
• Fluency in English is a must, Fluent or basic Japanese is recommended
• A solid portfolio with examples of great art direction, with a strong focus on display advertising and social content.
• The ability to work with type, motion or live action.
• Excellent knowledge of all social channels.
• Strong understanding of how to structure a winning pitch deck.
• The ability to sell ideas, both in person and in a deck.

Business hours and Location:

• Flexibility in time - We all have different creative clocks, and you know yours better than we do. We expect you to work 8 hours daily from Monday to Friday with core hours between 11:00 and 16:00 (excluding a 1-hour break). The rest will be up to you.
• Flexibility in location - Waste fully embraces telework, and most of us work from home. Office space is also available for your convenience, and you will have access to meeting rooms and hot desks.
• Offices are located at 1 Chome-22-19 Izumi 8~9F, Suginami City, Tokyo 168-0063 (map)
• You must reside in Japan during your employment at Waste. We offer legal support for visa applications. Depending on your situation, we may allow you to work outside of Japan during your probation period.
