Art Director (Sports/Strategy)

Nimble Giant is looking for a fully remote Art Director for a new Sports/Strategy Live game for PC and Consoles
Nimble Giant, one of the leading PC/Console game development studios in Latin America, is now expanding into Spain to keep delivering world class video game experiences to gamers and clients.
We are looking for a talented, dedicated, and passionate Art Director to champion the art and visual development of our new project. The ideal candidate has extensive experience and knowledge of art fundamentals, processes and production pipelines, an excellent eye for graphical quality, and knowledge of a wide range of techniques used to achieve specific visual targets, with special expertise on UI/UX.
As the Art Director your job will involve defining and establishing the artistic vision and quality standards for the studio’s project . You will be responsible for providing direction, guidance and support to a multidisciplinary internal art team, and to external contributors, ensuring that all art materials are consistent and meet the required quality standards. You will collaborate with producers and team leads in planning, organizing, following-up and evaluating the art team’s work in order to ensure that they meet the production objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Define, develop and clearly communicate the artistic vision and art quality standards for our projects.
- Work closely with the design team to create conceptual artwork, sketches, and product pitches which clearly define and convey the artistic vision of our projects.
- Create and maintain art documentation and guidelines with internal and external teams, including the Art Bible.
- Ensure that art direction goals are clearly communicated to executives, internal teams and external partners, across multiple teams and disciplines.
- Direct, guide and support the internal art team, ensuring that all art materials are consistent and meet the quality standards.
- Direct and oversee the work of external art providers and contributors, making sure that art materials are consistent and meet the quality standards.
- Raise the bar for the project by demanding high quality results from self and team members, through regular review and feedback on the team's and external contributors’ work.
- Work hand in hand with the production team and leads to ensure that schedules and plans are met on budget and time.
- Share knowledge and recommend best practices for the art production and workflow.
- Actively participate in the talent scouting and selection process.
- Guide, mentor and develop the art team.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience in an Art position, and 5+ years of experience as an Art Director or Senior Artist.
- Proven experience in the game industry, at least 5 complete development cycles from start to finish.
- Portfolio demonstrating an ability to work on a wide range of subject matter and art styles.
- Experience in all areas of game art, including creation of characters, environments, game objects, and special focus on user interface and user experience.
- Ability to quickly concept and iterate on ideas.
- Experience and willingness to take direction and work with teams across multiple disciplines.
- Excellent ability to provide and receive constructive feedback in an effective manner.
- Excellent skills with tools like Photoshop and Illustrator
- Intermediate English level (~B1).
Bonus:
- Experience working with Unreal Engine, Unity or other 3D game engines.
- Advanced English level (C1).
