Your skills will be dedicated to BGE2, one of the most innovative productions at Ubisoft.
The Art Director drives the artistic direction of our project and carries it through the whole lifecycle of the game.
You will act daily with an highly skilled team of experts around multiple studios in Europe, to develop one of the most wanted feature of the game.
Your experience, your artistic vision together with your skills, will let you evolve successfully in this project and take part in an extraordinary adventure!
Our Goal? To create a huge open world, an entire Galaxy, where the gamer is free to explore unique planets (each with its own cities, ecosystem and culture)! An open universe where every run gives the player a fresh, procedurally generated, experience. To achieve this, we developed a special homemade engine with new technical possibilities which will allow us to give the player a seamless experience.
Missions :
- Define the visual identity of environments and natural landmarks for the various planets and moons of the BGE2 universe,
- Drive the creation of iconic space opera landscapes and biomes from ground to orbit;
- Translate a highly ambitious artistic vision into a visual language that will populate worlds of massive scale;
- Work closely with environment artists and the technical art team to materialize your vision into the game;
- Communicate your direction through concepts, references, moodboards, direction documents and presentations,
- Manage a team of 2 concept artists.
Qualifications
- Experience on at least one AAA title as a lead or art director within an environments team (Realistic style),
- Good mastering of all graphic tools, both 2D and 3D,
- Ability to listen and communicate efficiently in english (spoken and written),
- A keen eye for visual design;
- To be familiar with procedural environments creation would be a plus!
