Would you enjoy the freedom to create AAA PlayStation games working from anywhere in the UK, including our Liverpool studio?

We are looking for an experienced Art Director to define and shape the artistic vision on a AAA multiplayer action title. This is the perfect opportunity for someone with the knowledge, ambition, and impeccable standards to deliver their career-best work. You will help shape an ambitious, exciting project with a heavy focus on art, animation, worldbuilding, and unique multiplayer experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To set and maintain an exciting and engaging artistic vision for the game
  • Clearly communicate your vision to the project stakeholders and Art team through artwork and presentations
  • Expand, lead, develop and mentor a world-class art team
  • Report to the Creative Director and collaborate with the Game Director, Tech Director, and other key project stakeholders
  • Create and maintain style guides for the project
  • Review and critique artwork and communicate this back to art leads or artist for a given piece of work
  • Maintain and develop the artistic vision for the game throughout development and into launch and beyond

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as an Art Director on a AAA title, from initial concept to final product
  • An eagerness to learn new working practices and software, but can bring their own experience of best working practices to the team and studio
  • Approachable, with a proactive attitude towards cross discipline communication
  • A thorough understanding of the latest art workflows
  • Excellent and demonstrable art skills with a thorough understanding of the fundamental principles of art
  • Energetic and positive attitude with strong leadership skills

Additional Desirable Skills:

  • The ability to create an artistic vision from scratch across multiple styles and genres
  • Experience with Unreal Engine
  • Experience with Console development
  • Familiarity with DevOps processes
