Animator

Proletariat is seeking candidates for another Animator role to work on an unannounced project.
The ideal candidate develops unique and beautiful character animations that capture and punctuate emotions drawn out through gameplay. They are familiar with industry-standard animation tools, can animate in a variety of styles, are a skilled communicator and a team player.
Applicants should submit a resume and current portfolio of work. Qualified applicants may be expected to complete a small art test.
Responsibilities :
- Work with the Art Director, Leads, and the animation team to identify and carry out animation tasks.
- Create and implement keyframe animation that spans gameplay and cinematic needs.
- Work closely with the team to develop animation systems and improve the animation pipeline.
- Provide and manage feedback on assets from external vendors.
- Work across departments to deliver on larger features and initiatives for current projects.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of professional 3D animation experience preferred, 2+ years of experience in a creative industry required.
- A strong understanding of animation principles (appeal, timing, spacing, weight, etc.).
- Expert understanding of Maya or equivalent animation package.
- Experience using Unreal, including blendspaces, blueprints and state machines.
- Ability to balance expressive and distinct in-game character personality, visual aesthetic quality and gameplay needs.
- A strong understanding of game character creation pipelines.
- Experience working in an iterative, agile environment.
- Self-directed; displays strong initiative in completing tasks with limited oversight.
- Collaborative; receptive to critique and feedback and has a strong team dynamic.
- Excited to improve visual skills, learn new techniques and applicable technology.
- Enjoys playing a wide variety of games
Pluses:
- 2D animation experience.
- Works in a variety of animation styles.
- Experience with cinematic development and related pipelines.
- Experience working with motion capture data and related software packages.
