This role is for a Magician- creative sorcerer. Everything you touch will need to come to life. If you are suitable established creative professional with extensive development experience and credentials, who is a subject-matter expert we want to hear from you.
The role of Animator is a ‘hands on’ individual contributor developing and producing high quality animation content which is on-brief and on-time; working collaboratively within a team environment and under direction to achieve outcomes and to support the delivery of games at the highest quality.
Gaming Industry knowledge is preferred but no essential. However, it is expected that the candidate applying for this role would have contributed to the development and success of a range of commercially released products in an aligned industry i.e., console games, long-form, short-form animation, online, mobile etc.What you'll do
- Working under direction from Art-director and project stakeholders, to produce world class animation with a focus on innovation and creativity.
- Creative excellence: ensure output is on-brand and innovative; attention to detail and deadlines paramount.
- Be a subject matter expert in animation production for interactive entertainment.
- Deliver error free assets on time to a level of functional and aesthetic quality appropriate to the game requirements.
- Identify, assess and mitigate technical risk, as well as quickly and accurately resolving unexpected issues that can occur during the development process.
- Maintain excellent file organization and follow established processes for asset creation and management, output configuration, IP and reference material etc.
- Keep up to date on the latest developments within the gaming industry.
What we're looking for
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in Animation or related is desirable, an up-to date showreel is essential.
- 5 +years development experience in a professional creative production environment.
*Tertiary qualifications may not be required if significant professional work experience can be exhibited.
Key Competencies
Computer Literacy
- Demonstrated experience with core application software including 3DStudio Max, Maya, VRay, ZBrush, Adobe CC Suite, Blender etc.
- Unity / C# development experience highly regarded.
- Strong PC/Mac skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Communication Skills
- Ability to liaise across all levels of the organization.
- Ability to develop, foster and facilitate effective working relationships with key stakeholders.
- Able to communicate effectively both in written and verbal forms.
- Confident to share new ideas and comfortable influencing key stakeholders.
General
- Excellent understanding of animation production techniques and pipelines. (real-time & pre-rendered)
- High level of competency in creating and delivering content using key software to a range of end-platforms i.e., custom propriety platforms, web and mobile devices.
- Display initiative to drive projects and present new ideas.
- High attention to detail and good analytical skills.
- Demonstrated organizational skills, including the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to a range of functional teams within the organization.
- Ability to handle competing priorities to meet tight deadlines.

- Ability to work within a team as well as unsupervised.
