Senior Animator - Studio Orbital (Remote)

nDreams Studio Orbital is looking for talented people to help pioneer development in live service games for VR that will entertain players for years. This is an exciting opportunity to be at the heart of both a new team and project right from the start.

THE ROLE
Are you a senior animator who is excited about the immersive potential of VR and can breathe life into our awe-inspiring alien worlds?
You will take ownership for all animations created at nDreams Orbital and work collaboratively across the project to create engaging animations that complement the visual style, embellish the design, are optimal and realised successfully in-game.
What Will You Be Doing?
- Collaborate with the art director to bring the world and characters to life. Create an emotional bond with players to draw them into our VR experience.
- Deliver cohesive, dynamic and believable animations for all manner of fantastical creatures, bi-peds, robot AI and future technology.
- Effectively communicate and illustrate animation intentions to the team.
- Verify animations in VR and make improvements where necessary to fit technical limitations and artistic direction.
- Help support the project as we move into the live operations phase of development.
- Contribute to other areas of the project when possible - such as marketing artwork, environmental animations, and rigging.
Requirements
- A high quality portfolio of animation in a variety of styles, highlighting timing, spacing, weight and believability.
- Strong knowledge of animating in Maya or Motion Builder.
- Real-time engine experience, ideally in Unreal. Creating animations in Sequencer, with a knowledge of blueprints.
- Experience in the games industry, including several published titles within the Console, PC, VR or Mobile space.
- Interest in the latest VR technologies and current trends in art content creation.
- Working knowledge of industry standard project management tools and source control software.
- A creative thinker with strong problem-solving abilities and commitment to personal development.
- Positive and outgoing personality with a can-do attitude and be able to adapt based on feedback.
- Bonus points for skinning and rigging knowledge.
