Job description

We are looking for an experienced Animation Director eager to enter a new stage in their career by supervising a very experienced team on future topics, using equipment unrivalled in Europe:

- In collaboration with the director, you will be responsible for day-to-day monitoring of the animations produced in the studio. You will define the atmosphere, style and rhythm of the sequences, paying attention to unity and artistic continuity as well as the pace of work of those involved;

- With 3 leads, you will supervise all the dedicated animation departments: the integrated soundproof Performance Capture studio (74 Vicon T160 cameras), and the facial and body animation teams.

- You will produce and document the Animation specification for our projects;

- You will communicate quality expectations to the teams. You will develop clear strategies, establish workflows and research the documentation and visual references enabling the team to achieve its objectives;

- You will continuously track and approve the animations produced in compliance with established artistic guidelines;

- You will learn about the target platform, the engine and performance capture tools so as to become a driving force and push back boundaries.

Required skills

The candidate must have proven experience in animation, including:

- A minimum of 10-15 years’ experience in animation in the video games or cinema/3D series sector, including at least 3 years in a similar role;

- The games/series/films on which the candidate has worked must have presented complex animation challenges, ideally including realistic facial animation;

- A very good understanding of human expressions and anatomy, physiological reactions, body language and proportions in the design of characters;

- Good proficiency in Maya and Motion Builder;

- Motivated, capable of working independently and delivering on time to a high quality standard;

- Positive professional attitude, effective communicator with multicultural teams.
