Ce que tu vas faire

• Intégration d’animation ‘gameplay’ et cinématique dans l’engin de jeu ;
• Intégration d’événements à l’intérieur des niveaux. Travailler en collaboration avec l'équipe de conception du jeu pour atteindre les émotions et les expériences de joueur désirées ;
• Soutenir les animateur.trices avec l'intégration de leurs animations au besoin ;
• Conduire des efforts de prototypage qui comprendraient une évaluation technique des risques et travailler en étroite collaboration avec les programmeur.euses ;
• Compiler et soumettre des rapports pour des solutions techniques suggérées ou de nouveaux pipelines ;
• Fournir des outils d'amélioration du flux de travail, tels que la fonctionnalité de script (Python, MEL, etc.), la documentation du processus et les Wikis «How-To» ;
• Maintenir l'efficacité technique au jour le jour du pipeline de travail, dépanner les différents processus et être la référence technique pour les animateur.trices ;

Ce que tu apportes

• 3 à 5 ans d’expérience dans l’industrie de l’animation 3D préférablement dans le jeu vidéo avec expérience de jeux AAA publiés ;
• Avoir complété au moins une production de jeu vidéo, préférablement nouvelle génération ;
• Éducation formelle en animation 3D, éducation en 2D ;
• Expérience avec des engins de jeu tel Unity, Unreal ou autre ;
• Excellente compréhension des aspects techniques de l’animation de jeux ;
• Capacité a bien communiquer avec les animateur.trices, codeur.euses et concepteur.trices de niveau ;
• Compréhension de la production de jeux d’animation en développement ;
• Design et prototypage de systèmes d’animation ;

Encore mieux si tu as

• Expérience en scripting un atout ;
• Expérience en systèmes d’animation facial un atout ;
• Expérience de Maya et Motionbuilder un atout ;

SENIOR TECHNICAL ANIMATOR

REPORTS TO: ANIMATION TECHNICAL DIRECTOR

PERMANENT – FULL TIME

What you will do

• Integration of gameplay and cinematic animation in the game engine;
• Integration of events inside the levels. Work in collaboration with the game design team to achieve the desired player emotions and experiences;
• Support animators with the integration of their animations as needed;
• Conduct prototyping efforts that include a technical risk assessment and work closely with programmers;
• Compile and submit reports for suggested technical solutions or new pipelines;
• Provide workflow-enhancing toolsets and aids as necessary such as script functionality (Python, MEL, etc.) process documentation and ‘How-To’ Wikis;
• Maintain the day-to-day technical efficiency of the work pipeline, trouble-shooting the processes involved and being the technical ‘go-to’ guy for animators.

What you bring

• 3 to 5 years of industry experience in 3D animation ideally in video games with AAA published titles to your credit;
• Must have participated in at least one full videogame production, preferably next-gen;
• Formal education in 3D animation, 2D education;
• Knowledge of Unity, Unreal or other engines is an important asset;
• Comprehensive understanding of the technical aspects and caveats of game animation;
• Ability to interface and communicate with animators, coders, and level designers;
• Understanding of animation in game-development production;
• Animation-related system design and prototyping.

Even better if you have

• Productive scripting experience is an asset;
• Knowledge of facial animation systems in game development is an asset;
• Extensive experience of Maya or Motionbuilder is an asset.
