As an Analytics Engineer, you will help shape the infrastructure future of advanced analytics across Wizards of the Coast. You will work closely with Wizards' data scientists, researchers, and data engineering teams to develop and maintain a data science and analytics platform to support Wizards' data-driven culture. Technical prowess and innovative problem-solving skills will be key to this role.
What You'll Do:
- Work with Data Scientists to help improve their productivity and implement their models and tools into production environments.
- Maintain and enhance our performance monitoring and analysis telemetry, frameworks, and BI architecture.
- Collaborate with multi-functional data and product teams across business applications to access and manipulate data, explain data gathering requirements, make recommendations, display results, and build efficient and scalable analytics solutions.
- Evaluate and adopt technologies which improve team efficiency and ability to implement live modeling and experimentation.
- Own the processes of technical implementation for live production models and decision-support analytics tools.
- Liaise with architects and engineers from other product teams to build analytic solutions in our games and drive adoption and business impact.
- Partner with internal teams on projects to identify and articulate opportunities, see beyond the data to determine solutions that will set the standard for decision making.
What You'll Bring:
- Real-world experience building and deploying machine learning and data systems or applications (ideally, 3-5 years of software development engineering experience involving machine learning).
- A strong grounding in data structures, algorithms, and database concepts.
- Experience implementing enterprise-scale cloud data pipelines.
- Experience in design, implementation and delivery of scalable build/test/release agile software development cycle.
- Familiarity with Python; additional application development languages are a plus (C++, C#, Java, Javascript, Unity).
- Familiarity with machine learning algorithms, languages and implementation tools (Python, R, Spark, Airflow, Jenkins, Docker, SQL).
- Experience with data science fundamentals, predictive analytics and machine learning algorithms.
- Experience working with A/B experiment platforms (such as Optimizely) is a plus.
- Advance degree in a quantitative field (e.g., statistics, economics, computational biology, computer science, mathematics, physics, etc.).
