Renowned for taking on technically demanding projects and providing support teams for AAA publishers, Abstraction does not shy away from a challenge and has delivered 200+ SKU’s across 60 games over the last 14 years. The company is also engaged with creative co-development and DLC projects and is developing an unannounced internal game based on an original IP.
The studio is proud to count as its partners, companies such as Bioware/EA, 343/Microsoft, Funcom, Sega, Paradox Interactive, Snail Games, Perfect World, Mythical Games and Aspyr Media to name but a few.
Abstraction’s HQ is based close to Eindhoven, The Netherlands and has a multi-skilled and multi-national team of 80+ and is in the middle of executing a plan that will see the team grow by 30% over the next year.
The company is privately owned, and its executive team has a combined experience of over 100 years in the games industry.

As Abstraction is becoming an International creative games studio in its own right, we need YOU to ensure that this “new” message is conveyed to the games industry all over the world; whilst never neglecting the need to keep our core business, working together with some of the world’s leading game publishers on their IP, growing and thriving.
Our new Marketing & Communications Manager is responsible for managing the PR, Social Media Marketing, and Community efforts, and is the key stakeholder for the global communications strategy, externally and internally.

What Will You Be Doing At Abstraction
- Product marketing: You will oversee the entire marketing cycle of the release of our future IP across all platforms and worldwide.
B2B Marketing: You will be responsible for all aspects of our company marketing and communications and work closely with Business Development. - Strategy: You will lead market research, product analysis, messaging, content development, competitive intelligence, promotional plans, budgeting, and external communication strategies for our games.
- Marketing assets production and coordination: You will define the direction and oversee the creation of creative assets such as copy, trailers, key art, merchandise, and more.
- PR and influencer marketing: You will be hands-on with external communications management, monitor execution, and evaluate the efficiency of campaigns working closely with a PR agency.
- Online marketing: You will define the strategy for user acquisition, funnel and landing page optimisation, and monitor execution.
- Marketing analytics: Define your product’s key marketing and business metrics and oversee ongoing reporting and analysis.
Internal communication will also require some attention to ensure the proper understanding of the company within its staff. Depending on your talents, you might also help HR to inject happiness & joy into our great family.
What You Will Bring Along
- Experienced: You have worked in video games marketing for at least four years.
- Educated: You have a relevant qualification, such as a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or experience in the field of more than eight years.
- Passionate for marketing: You have excellent skills and ideas, are willing to be accountable for your work, enjoy working in teams, and have a data-driven approach.
- Creative: You are constantly pushing for more original and innovative ideas and solutions.
A gamer: You have good knowledge of the video games industry, you know what players want, and you are passionate about playing games. - Hands-on: You are proactive, productive, and willing to take direct action and control projects to achieve your vision's execution.
- A team player: You’ll work across several teams within Abstraction and be able to give confident, knowledgeable direction on your projects.
- Fluent in English: Skills in other European languages would be a bonus too!

Work location and time zone
- Fully remote during and post COVID-19 pandemic or onsite.
- Working hours are within the European time zone (CET).
