WHO WE ARE

We’re ArenaNet—we’ve created a studio that makes online worlds infused with innovation, hand-crafted excellence, and creative passion. We're not the only ones who share this passion; gamers made Guild Wars 2 the fastest selling MMO game in the West with more than 3 million copies sold in its first 9 months, and players and press have consistently called it one of the best MMOs of all time.

Our studio is built on foundations of excellence with a focus on community. We constantly innovate, unlocking the true potential of online role-playing with game-changing titles like Guild Wars 2 and beyond. The status quo is not good enough for our dedicated worldwide community of players, which is why we question the de facto industry conventions and demand more from ourselves as developers.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

We are building an unparalleled online role-playing game. For that, we need an Advanced Technical Designer. Creative. Ingenious. Tenacious. You’re an inventor. You transmute game designs into gameplay experiences. Anyone can have ideas, but you can make ideas come alive.

To start, you will collaborate closely with many disciplines to evolve our designs beyond the whiteboard. You’ll build technical, playable concepts for the team to experience. You’ll find the fun. You’ll find the problems. You’ll find a future unimagined.

In the years to come, your efforts will multiply our production team. Your detailed technical plans will guide the creation of features and workflows. You’ll spread your tricks, tips, and technical understanding across the design team. They will look for your help with complex implementations, organization, and cursed problems.

WHY JOIN THE DESIGN TEAM?

Our design team values understanding. We know that our industry is always changing. What we build today will influence and inspire the next generation of game developers. What an incredible opportunity—and great responsibility.

We believe that design serves the team, the project, and the players. To do so, we must communicate impeccably and support each other. We to strive to continuously improve our tools, techniques, and processes. We seek to uncover the underserved perspectives and diverse voices amongst ourselves and our players.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

If you believe this role is perfect for you, we would love to hear why.
