Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented, analytical problem-solver with a passion for numbers to join our growing finance & administrative team! The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years’ accounting experience maintaining the general ledger, financial statements, and management reports. You will work as a liaison with other departments to gather the information necessary to do your work.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret financial reporting requirements, rules and regulations.
• Prepare profit and loss statements, cash flow, income, and balance sheet statements.
• Prepare reports of revenues and expenditures for projects.
• Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
• Input accounts payable vendor invoices and employee expense reports into accounting system.
• Process AP payments electronically as well as any check disbursements.
• Reconcile credit card statements monthly ensuring proper receipt/documentation is provided from each corporate credit card holder.
• Process and/or assist with payroll.
• Execute on the monthly closing plan including continuous improvement and streamlining processes.
• Prepare month-end journal entries and account reconciliations for many accounts by the deadline as outlined in the close calendar.
• Effectively liaise with stakeholders throughout the Studio to ensure accuracy.
• Document policies, procedures, and workflow for assigned areas of responsibility.
• Various special ad-hoc projects.

Requirements

• BS in Accounting, Finance, or closely related field of study with one to three years of relevant experience.
• Strong computer skills with a desire to continuously improve processes and automate as it makes sense for the organization. Proficiency in Excel is required with a working knowledge of Quickbooks preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Must be able to excel in deadline-driven environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the desire to learn.
• Ability to adapt and function effectively in fast-paced, changing environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
• Integrity, with an ability to handle confidential information is critical to this role.
