AP Accountant

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for accounts payable and purchase order process, accruals, prepaid, amortization, fixed assets, quarter and year end closures. Assist with internal and external audit. The individual in this position must be adaptable and be able to work well independently and a team player in fast-paced environment. This position is a temp to hire position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for activities and operations in the accounts payable function
• Knowledge and able to convert purchase requisition to purchase orders
• Accrual, prepaid, amortization, fixed asset for month, quarter and year end closures.
• Ensure GL coding properly
• Analyzed invoices and expense reports for accuracy and eligibility for payment
• Perform the full cycle of AP process from invoice voucher to payment
• Ensure timely payments of invoices
• Ensure expense reports comply with the company policy
• Communicate inter-department to resolve AP related inquiries
• Maintain Fixed assets and depreciation module in the ERP
• Assist in month, quarter and year end closures
• 1099 and 1042 tax filing

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

• In-depth knowledge of accounts payable and general accounting
• Strong technical and computer skills including extensive experience with Accounting software packages, word processing, spreadsheet generation, intermediate excel knowledge, and database management
• Experience with Oracle R12(PO and AP) highly desired
• Experience with Concur
• 1099 and 1042 tax filing experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to analyze and solve problems
• Focused and results driven
• Excellent organizational skills

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• 4 - 5 years of Accounts Payable and general accounting experience
