The Role
We are looking for an AI Engineer game developer to build player and creature systems including things like abilities and NPC motivations in Unreal. This individual’s focus will be to bring life to friendly NPCs and create exciting combat encounters. As an engineer they will be collaborating with multiple disciplines to design, implement, and maintain systems and content ranging from behavior systems and navigation to spawning and abilities.
Who You Are

- You are enjoy writing systems in C++ and prototyping in blueprint.
- You have found you passion in AI and are on a path to continue to refine your craft
- You are a good communicator & effective at cross team collaboration.
What You Will Do
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to help design and implement new NPC’s, ambient life and enemy encounters
- Implement character behaviors using existing systems where possible and expand and create new systems as needed.
- Work iteratively to find the fun of new AI characters
- Help maintain and refine AI systems for more robust interactions and performance needs
- Implement and structure pragmatic, reliable shipping code
- Identify risks and tradeoffs of different engineering approaches and possible solutions to meet design goals

- Experience in craft
- Experience working on gameplay
- Worked on shipping titles
- Worked with a general engine and toolset
