3D Technical Animator

AppLovin’s in-house creative team, SparkLabs, is looking for a talented and experienced 3D Technical Animator. You would be joining a team that is responsible for creating a variety of graphic, video and interactive creatives designed for mobile games. The genres will vary from match 3 games to far more complex resource management and mid-core games. These creatives will be used to allow end users the ability to preview some of the largest mobile gaming apps in the marketplace.

Responsibilities

• Help compose, illustrate, and animate graphics, videos, and playable advertisements for AppLovin’s partners globally across a wide variety of mobile gaming genres.
• Oversee the team’s 3D Character Animations, Lighting, Rigging, and Models
• Generate high quality and scalable 3D simulations for the team
• Create Blueprints in Unreal to be used for simulations, animations, and lighting
• Troubleshoot technical and complex tasks within 3D applications
• Collaborate with business teams to understand campaign objectives.
• Partner with other internal design teams to deliver high quality 3D assets and ads.
• Research and synthesize market trends and innovate creative ideas

Basic Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in graphic design, media arts, illustration, animation, game design or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2-4 years of professional experience working in creative production.
• Strong proficiency using Unreal, version control applications like Github, Maya, Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere and Illustrator.
• Highly technical artist with 3D design and animation background
• Ability to grasp multiple design requirements with attention to detail and effectively complete deliverables within deadlines with little supervision.
• Results oriented and interested in working with data and cross-team stakeholders to produce high-engagement ads.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience creating/editing mobile advertisements.
• Game design or development experience
• Marketing experience is a plus!
• Working proficiency in another foreign language is a plus (particularly Mandarin)!
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment that is constantly changing.
