3D Animator and Rigger

Our creative team is looking for passionate and talented 3D Animators and Rigger with great understanding of 3D animation and rigging techniques. The ideal candidate has experience animating characters (biped, quadruped, winged characters etc), clothing and props with a solid grasp of the principles of animation. You will be working collaboratively with Lead Artist to ensure we achieve a unified look and high quality throughout the game.
- Create high-quality 3D animations (character and creature animation, and animations of other in-game objects).
- Work directly with the managers/leads to establish the animation style and requirement of the projects.
- Implement, and troubleshoot animation systems.
- Work closely with different disciplines (artists, programmers, designers) to solve creative and technical problems.
- Ensures rigs are intuitive, responsive and pipeline friendly.
- Troubleshoots rigging issues to ensure standards are met.
- Works efficiently and effectively within the technical constraints of production while generating high-quality artwork that matches (or) exceeds studios standards.
- Communicates regularly with the Lead Artist regarding the status of current tasks; obtains Lead Artists guidance and approval as required to advance tasks, project initiatives, and milestones.
- Assists in maintaining consistency and quality of Rig with the Leads and Art Director.
- Consistently refines artistic abilities and learns new software packages and in-house tools.
- Learns to use proprietary technologies or software as necessary.
- Guide peers, and less experienced Animators when necessary.
- Contributes and help build a positive team environment.
Requirements
- Understanding of implementation in game engines.
- Solid understanding of animation pipeline and principles (from the conceptual phase to implementation.)
- Strong and effective communication skills.
- Ability to work without micro-management and being able to prioritize and manage tasks to meet deadlines.
- Understanding of motion capture technology.
- Animation software such as Maya, 3Ds Max and Blender
- Familiarity with game engines such as Unreal and Unity.
- Other skills: Capability of one scripting languages like Python and mel is a plus.
