Do you ever scroll Instagram/Pinterest for hours looking at beautiful homes and spaces? Think it would be fun to design a food truck makeover? Have a favorite HGTV show? Are you an experienced game artist? Then this might be the role for you! Storm8 is looking for a talented artist to join us creating beautiful spaces in our massively popular interior design games! We are looking for a hands-on, self-motivated artist who has a passion for producing creative, high-fidelity visuals alongside a small team of fun and collaborative game developers.

The ideal candidate will have a portfolio demonstrating a wide range of skills from illustration to modeling. We’d like to see a strong knowledge of light and color, as well as samples of environment design. Experience in game development is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Design a wide variety of environments depicting a spectrum of interior design styles
• Concept fun and novel environments while thoughtfully considering user experience
• Develop concept sheets that are clear and detailed for other 3D artists to work from
• Work with concept artists to model, texture, and light stunning interactive environments and props
• Stay abreast of the interior design space, including trends and popular media
• Home design sensibilities and learn to identify and reproduce trends in popular media
• Help guide other artists with their skills and abilities through peer feedback
• Continuously learn and grow as an artist and developer

Qualifications:

• BA degree in fine arts or related field, or equivalent professional experience
• 1+ years of game development experience
• Excellent communication and team skills
• Strong UV and texturing skills
• Experience working with lighting and shaders
• Fast learner with attention to detail
• Deep understanding of core artistic principles including light/color, composition, structure and perspective
• A strong portfolio representing both 2D and 3D artwork that displays proficiency with Adobe Photoshop, Autodesk Maya
• Experience with Maya (or equivalent) and Adobe Creative Suite is required
• Unity knowledge is a plus
