Senior Game Programmer - Unreal

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Game Programmer (Unreal) to join our Game Development team in our new office, Bogotá - Colombia. The ideal candidate would be a self-motivated, energetic team player and has proven experience in game systems like AI and multiplayer. This candidate will be diving into projects using Unreal Engine.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Delivering Excellence
- Implement new features and improve existing systems for our games.
- Effective analysis, decision making and problem-solving within tight schedules and project constraints.
- Provide technical knowledge to help develop cutting-edge technologies for use in our games and help further improve our internal workflow practices.
- Write clear, functional and maintainable code according to the game design documentation, adhering to programming standards set.
- Assist in the creation and update of code and system documentation, help to peer review technical designs and code of fellow programmers.
- Diagnose and understand Client/Partner technology and processes and train artists in using it if required.
- Participates in reviewing, monitoring and evaluating workflows and risks to improve or automate the production and development process.
Communication
- Keep the Creative/Art Director, Producers, Managers up to date regarding status of tasks at all times and proactively communicating in advance of upcoming roadblocks and challenges.
- Work closely with designers, artists, QA, and other engineers to ensure a great player experience.
Team and Personal Development
- Consistently refine one’s own programming abilities and learn new software packages and in-house tools as well as share new knowledge amongst the team.
- Assists Leads and Managers in inspiring and growing the team through hiring, training and supervising team members in AAA videogame development.
- Support the development of cutting-edge technologies for use in our games and improvement of workflow practices.
- Collaborates on reviewing client documentation for incoming projects.
- Be open and work with constructive criticism, direction and changes.
- Identify and recommend areas of growth for the team.
Requirements
- Proficiency in English and Spanish. This includes excellent verbal and written communications skills in English.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, other comparable degree area, or comparable experience.
- 5+ years of professional video game programming experience.
- Significant experience with Unreal Engine 4/5.
- Proficiency in C++.
- Excellent problem solving, analytical and interpersonal skills.
- Strong game optimization and performance profiling skills.
- Excellent architecture and system design ability.
- Burning passion for playing and making games.
- Experience with multithreaded programming.
- Mature understanding of source control. SVN, GIT and Perforce.
- Has shipped at least one game.
Beneficial Skills
- Proficiency in other game engines (Unity, CryEngine, other proprietary engines).
- Experience with multi-platform development.
- Knowledge of networked game development.
- Knowledge of rendering algorithms and low-level graphics programming.
- Familiar with TCR/TRC.
- Familiarity or experience with agile software development practices (i.e. SCRUM).
- Has shipped more than one game titles.
