Day in the Life of an Assistant Financial Controller:

Reporting into the Group Financial Director, you will have a close relationship with the Sumo tax team, Pixelant senior management team and professional services advisors. You will also have the opportunity to work closely with the Sumo Commercial finance team, supporting on strategic projects, contract negotiations and business planning and forecasting for Pixelant studios.

This role will play a key part in ensuring local compliance for Pixelant studios, ensuring integration with the rest of the business. You will oversee all aspects of operational finance, statutory reporting and compliance for Pixelant studios, utilising the resources and connections within the Group finance team. You will also work closely with professional advisors based in Poland to ensure local statutory books and records, corporate tax, withholding tax, VAT and payroll taxes are compliant and that all filing requirements are met.

Please note, this role is hybrid and you will be expected to work occasionally from our studio in Wroclaw.

Your responsibilities will include but won't be limited to:

• Overseeing operational finance for Pixelant studios.

• Being responsible for reviewing and maintaining financial records and the general ledger for Pixelant.

• Identifying balance sheet risks and opportunities and report and escalate these where appropriate.

• Being the key point of contact for all local tax filings including corporation tax, withholding taxes, payroll taxes and VAT, working with professional advisors to ensure tax books and records are compliant and that all filing requirements are met.

• Working with the Sumo Group tax team to ensure they are continually informed of compliance requirements and tax risks

• Being a key finance contact for the Pixelant leadership team, assisting with strategic growth projects alongside the UK finance team and ensuring financial risk management and compliance.

What you need to do this job:

• A professional accountancy qualification.

• Extensive experience working in a finance environment.

• Excellent spoken and written English and Polish.

• Experience leading and working in effective teams.

• Strong presentation skills, both written and oral, ability to flex style depending on audience.

• The ability to build relationships with key stakeholders and broader business stakeholders.

• The ability to break down silos and collaborate across multiple team members, teams and parts of the Group.

• Exceptional attention to detail.

• Strong excel skills and the ability to analyse and manipulate data.
