Motive is looking for a Technical Animator to join its Iron Man team and help implement runtime animation systems, character animation features, and workflows on Unreal Engine 5.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with gameplay designers, technical leads, and animators to understand their process and needs.
- Anticipate challenges and identify solutions impacting gameplay animation quality, efficiency, and maintainability.
- Own the animation system implementation of locomotion, flight, combat, and hit reactions, for player and AI.
- Troubleshoot tools and workflow related technical issues with the animation systems.
Qualifications:
- Strong teamwork skills while also retaining the ability to take ownership and work independently.
- Passion for making games look and play great.
- Excellent problem-solving skills. Must be able to quickly identify issues and resolve them.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with advanced game engines like Unreal or Unity.
- Experience integrating animation content into a game engine.
- Experience troubleshooting and debugging character animation systems.
- Familiarity with animation principles and the nature of animating for games.
Supplemental Skills:
- Experience creating or maintaining animation workflows and tools within DCC applications is an asset.
- Experience writing scripts/tools in Python is an asset.
